Dads are HARD!
Most of the time, when my dad sees something he wants, he just goes ahead and buys it!
He wants all the high-tech, gadgety stuff that I have NO CLUE how or where to buy!
So, what do you do when it's Father's Day?
My answer: go for the food!
Below are three of our top selling, home run recipes that every man loves!
So this Father's Day, let him kick back and enjoy one of these yummy treats while he watches the final round of the PGA U.S. Open :)
I hope you had a relaxing & fun Labor Day weekend!
My husband (John) & I were able to get away for a long weekend at our favorite place: Disney.
No, no, we do not have kids...but yes, we LOVE to go to Disney!
While we were there, we were able to squeeze in a round of golf, too.
I was finally able to try out the new GrooveLife Rings we just got at Magnolias & wanted to give you my honest review.
GrooveLife Rings are a silicone ring alternative to your traditional metal and diamond rings. They have basically a lifetime guarantee (94 years) & they will replace your ring if it breaks or even if you lose it! It also is the only silicone ring on the market that has grooves to allow your finger to breathe.
Now, the first thing I'd like to point out is that it is often hard to separate us ladies from our "bling." That being said, there are definitely more situations than you think where it would be best to not wear your diamond ring or band. The more I thought, taking your "real stuff" on vacation in general (specifically those that are on hot sandy beaches or foreign countries) can be a bit nerve wrecking.
What if you lose it?
What if it gets stolen?
What if something scuffs it or damages it?
Full disclosure, I do take my wedding ring & band on vacation, but I do get nervous about its safety when we inevitably play golf. Since I got engaged, I've always had to take my ring OFF when playing because 1) I cannot play golf in rings. It hurts. & 2) You cannot get a golf glove over your ring!
So...much to my dismay...I would tuck it into a pouch in my golf bag & nervously check after every hole to make sure it was still there!
So this trip, I locked my ring in the room safe & donned my new GrooveLife Ring to give it a go.
The truth? It was WONDERFUL.
I was honestly shocked at how much I loved it. It was Florida, so that meant 90+ degree weather with 1000% humidity, and this ring stayed dry & comfy all day long. It was so comfortable that I forgot I had it on until I took my golf glove off!
The verdict? I would 100% recommend this to any man or woman!
Obviously, this is a perfect solution for guys who have jobs that for safety purposes do not allow them to wear a metal band. But, I think this a great alternative for ladies who don't want to risk damaging their rings during their day to day activities or vocations: hair stylists, nurses (or really any job that requires you to wear gloves a lot), workouts, vacations, gardening, & literally any athletic activity! The list goes on & on.
If you have any questions about my experience or GrooveLife in general, feel free to contact me directly! I'd love to help in any way I can!
How many graduation invitations have you received? How many of your friends' kids are graduating high school or college this year? Your kids probably have some friends graduating, too.
With so many graduates, the task can seem daunting. So, just like last year, you head to the ATM for some cash to stick into another Dr. Seuss, "Oh, the places you'll go..." card.
Now, there's nothing wrong with that. We all love cold, hard cash. But, while it's "easy," it's a little impersonal to say the least. Plus, whenever we hear people talk about giving cash, it's usually a last resort. With a deep sigh & an exasperated voice, you usually hear, "Well...I guess I'll just give them money."
Call me crazy, but if you're already giving someone a gift (i.e., spending your money on them), shouldn't it be more fun than that?
What if I told you it could be simple & fun? That we at Magnolias know of three things they would love even more than cash? Hard to believe, right?
But it's true!
Check out our video for the three things grads love MORE than cash! Give something you can be excited about this year!
When it comes to moms, gift giving can be especially stressful. Of all the people in the world, we readily agree that "Mom" is deserving of the very best. Which makes the gift giving decisions a bit more pressure packed. After nearly 26 years in business, we have accumulated some knowledge on what makes one gift more of "a hit" than others. We've put together our knowledge into a simple guide for you this Mother's Day.
There are THREE elements that every "successful" gift has in common:
This sounds like an expensive word, we know...but what we classify as "indulgent" doesn't necessarily come with a big price tag. Something indulgent simply means that she probably wouldn't buy it for herself. Moms are generally the definition of self sacrifice. This means spending $7 on a bath balm for little Jane is no problem, but when it comes to spending $7 or $10 on herself, little Jane's Mom thinks that is too expensive! Therefore, something as inexpensive as a bath balm, pedicure or manicure would be considered an "indulgence" to Mom!
So, when you're going for indulgence, think of something Mom may readily buy for others but won't buy for herself!
This is an especially important element for that Mom who has everything! Obviously, an element of "experience" is most commonly associated with an event. Does Mom have a favorite band? Broadway show? Movie? Spa? Restaurant? Get her tickets or make a reservation! Often spending time together doing something she specifically loves is the most impactful gift you can give.
Even if you decide to get her a physical gift like a piece of jewelry, pajamas, new shoes, etc....you can still make the gift giving an "experience" by making sure it is GIFT WRAPPED! Unwrapping a beautifully wrapped gift can be an experience in itself & makes whatever item inside even more special.
This is possibly the most important & easiest aspect to include in your gift. The key is to make it personal. This is as simple as including a hand written card or note with your gift. Let her know you took the time to put a few thoughts on paper.
Combine all three of these elements this Mother's Day & give the perfect gift!

If there's one "tradition" you should start THIS year with your family, look no further.
It's a beautiful, fun, and delicious way to remind us of the real reason we celebrate Easter morning.
Resurrection Rolls tell the redemptive work of Christ with just a few items you probably already have in your home:
Crescent Rolls (2 8oz cans)
Large Marshmallows (16)
Cinnamon (2 Tablespoons)
Sugar (1/4 cup)
Butter (1/2 cup)
In the hustle & bustle of coloring eggs, finding candy to fill baskets, & buying new Sunday morning dresses, it is easy to forget the redemptive work that should be the center of our Easter celebration! Here's the meaning behind the ingredients:
The pure, blameless body of Christ - Large marshmallow
Takes on all our sin & shame - Cinnamon, sugar, & butter mixture
Died for us & was buried in a tomb - Crescent roll
Rose from the grave securing our salvation & peace with God - Empty roll (after baking)
Combine the cinnamon & sugar in a bowl. Melt the butter in a bowl. Separate the crescent rolls into triangles. Dip the marshmallow in the melted butter, and then roll through the cinnamon & sugar mixture. Place the covered marshmallow on one of the crescent dough triangles & roll, pinching in the sides as you go so that the entire marshmallow is covered by the dough. Place the dough covered marshmallow on a slightly greased baking sheet & bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes.
Here's the important part: don't just check out for those 12 minutes! Don't use the time to open up your social media account or complete some other task you meant to finish yesterday. Use those few minutes to actually soak in the meaning of what you've put together: God became flesh, lived among us, took all our sin upon Himself, died the death we deserved...and ROSE AGAIN so that we may live!
When you remove the rolls from the oven, you can brush them lightly with the excess butter & sprinkle more of the sugar & cinnamon mixture over the top. Although their appearance hasn't changed (besides a golden brown crust), you'll find that when you bite into the roll or tear it open, the marshmallow has disappeared! All that's left is a delicious reminder of an empty tomb!
Enjoy & Happy Easter from our family to yours.
